Thank you Bold City Brewery for hosting our May club meeting and donating to our raffle! We appreciate everyone that was able to come out Saturday night and make this another successful CASK event. In this year’s Coconut Cup, we had a very successful competition coming in second place and brought home a total of 18 medals! The first of the 2018 Abbey Normal beers are being brewed. First up is Jesse Johnson’s winning Belgian Single recipe brewed in collaboration with Main and Sixth Brewing. The tapping is January 18th at 3pm at Main and Sixth.
Abbey Normal is our annual Belgian Beer competition. Local breweries sponsor a category and the gold medal winner gets to brew their recipe on the sponsor’s brew system. The competition is open to any CASK member current on their club dues and is usually held in the fall. The beers are judged to the BJCP style guidelines for the sponsored category.
The end of year awards banquet is next Saturday, January 12th at American Legion Post 137. This event is for club members only however it is never too late to join. The fun starts at 6pm but if you are bringing beer and food to share please arrive by 5pm.
NHC application enrollment is coming up. The application window opens January 22nd and first round shipping starts March 1st. To enter you have to be an AHA member and submit an application to enter. If accepted you will be able to enter during the first two weeks of February. First round judging is in late March to early April.
