Best Florida Beer Competition

The last Florida Circuit Competition concluded this past weekend with Best Florida Beer. Brewers Anonymous came in first place with 62 points, CASK was second place with 41 points, and Pinellas was third place with 27 points. CASK will officially take a second place finish in the cup standings behind Brewers Anonymous.

Pre-Order Your CASK Hat

As we mentioned at our most recent monthly meeting, we will be selling new CASK hats! These new hats will be black with a teal brim and the CASK logo patched on front.
 
You can pre-order your hat now for $20 and pick it up at our annual banquet on January 13th at Legacy Ale Works. If you can’t make the banquet, you will be able to pick yours up at Just Brew It.

November Club Meeting

It was a nice Fall evening to gather for our monthly club meeting. Thank you Bottlenose Brewery for hosting CASK and also for honoring all of the Veterans that made it out tonight. It was a great way to recognize our country’s service members! 🇺🇸

  • ​Nominations for 2024 CASK Officers will open up at this week’s meeting.  Nominations will remain open through the December meeting at which point we will open up voting and then we will announce the new officers at this years banquet. Feel free to reach out to any current officer if you have questions on their role.
  • Our annual banquet will be at Legacy Ale Works on January 13th at 6pm.  We will have BBQ available for dinner and we will announce 2024 officers, as well as announce the winners of Member of the Year, Brewer of the Year, Medal of the Year and current club rankings!

King Maker Wort Share

With regret, our planned wort share with King Maker Brewery this coming Saturday is cancelled. We are hoping for more support in doing one in February.

October Club Meeting

Thank you to everyone that made it out to our October CASK meeting hosted by Veterans United Craft Brewery. This evening we held our awards ceremony for our coveted Abbaye Normale Competition. This year we had a total of 55 entries and saw at least 6 entries per judged category! CASK brought home a 1st place finish earning 22 points, Jax Ale Exchange took 2nd place with 15 points, and SAAZ was 3rd with 3 points. Thank you to everyone that entered and to those that came out to help judge at King Maker Brewery.

Legacy Ale Works Maui Wildfire Benefit

It was a beautiful evening to join Legacy Ale Works for their Maui Wildfire Benefit. The CASK Officer’s collaboration brew of Kōkua’s Session IPA did not disappoint. If you were unable to be at the tapping, stop by sometime soon and enjoy this Session IPA showcasing Mosaic Hops! Thank you to those who came out to be a part of this wonderful event to help out the Maui Wildfire Victims.🍻

Sunshine Challenge Competition

Congratulations CASK on winning the Sunshine Challenge Competition yesterday with 51 points! Brewers Anonymous finished in second place with 46 points, and Hogtown Brewers took third place with 18 points. We had 13 members win medals with Jesse Johnson taking home 1st in Heavy Medal Brewer (8 pts) and Ed Stansel tied in 2nd Heavy Medal Brewer (6 pts). Awesome job everyone!!!

September CASK Meeting

It was was fantastic evening for a brew meeting! Thank you Legacy Ale Works for hosting our September CASK Meeting. The Officers had a wonderful time helping brew Kokua’s “Maui Strong” Session IPA available Friday, October 6th and proceeds will go towards helping the Maui Fire Victims.
 
Tonight’s Interklub Competition was Octoberfest Beers! Congratulations to each of our medalists!!!

Reminders & Upcoming Events:

2.) Comp de L’abbaye Normale is coming up soon! There are still entries open, so get your best Belgians ready and take a look at our website for rules and to see which breweries are sponsoring which categories this year.
 
3.) Best Florida Beer entries open up September 18th for the final Florida Circuit competition of the year. Currently they have a cap of 4 entries per person and each entry is $11. Let’s make sure to get in as many as we can for one final end of the year push. Brewer’s Anonymous has all but locked up the Cup this year, but we can’t let them coast to the win! Homebrewer of the year is still up for grabs!
 
4.) Come to this week’s meeting to find out the details on December’s Interklub Competition and meeting. The officers have something special cooked up (no pun intended.. or maybe it is intended.. come out to find out!) and we’ll share the details via email and social meeting after the meeting!

5.) Don’t forget that even though the Florida circuit comes to a close soon, CASK still has Interklub Competitions planned out a few months. January will be our annual banquet, but February and March Interklubs are already defined and ready for you to start planning them out to get your 2024 Interklub points going strong!

Commander Saaz Competition Results

CASK did great at the Commander Saaz Competition, tying Brewers Anonymous for first place with 37 points. The club had 10 members take home medals and our very own President, Bob Hull, won BOS Gold with his Smoked Helles!
